Rancho Cucamonga High School’s Concert Band attended the Riverside City College Festival on February 27th. The group watched the Wind Band perform pieces such as all 6 movements of Grainger’s Lincolnshire Posy and Holt’s First Suite in E-flat. The students thoroughly enjoyed the performance. After a short break, the group was set to perform Yo Goto’s Over Great Waves and Far Away and Clare Grundman’s Kentucky 1800 and received a standing ovation. Afterwards they participated in an informative clinic, which revealed opportunities for continued growth for the ensemble as festival season continues.
After the performance and clinic, the group walked to the nearby Food Lab and partook in a hearty meal before departing back to RCHS to get ready for a short performance for 8th grade parent night.
